Baby P is an Eggplant!

How far along?  25w2d
Total weight gain?  So far it’s been 13 pounds.  Many women mentioned this was a great weight gain and to keep it up.  The doctor has not mentioned if I’m gaining too much too fast.  So I am taking this as a good sign.
How big is baby?  I am not sure at this point, but will have a follow up ultrasound this Friday.  From the looks of it, maybe 14 inches?
Maternity clothes?  There were some shirts that are not long enough to cover my belly so some new shirts were bought to last me until December.  For sure they will be used if we do expect kid #2.
Stretch marks?  Nope, hope it can still stay that way.  Need to get some more Palmers!
Sleep?  Last night was my first time to stay up until 1am in forever!  We were at a friend’s house having fun chatting the night away.  Before we realized how late it was, it was 1am!  Yikes!  I did get a bit sleepy that I was less chatty, but still alert to stay up.  My friend was suprised I lasted this long into the night.  The difference was I didn’t wear a watch and didn’t realize what time it was.
Best moments this week?  I spent some time with my mom and Gramma.  We had a girl’s day out and it was a lot of fun.  I hadn’t seen my Gramma since Mother’s day.  When I arrived at her house, she was taken back on how my bump has grown even if she hasn’t seen me in a while.  She asked all kinds of questions, how I was feeling, if I was doing okay, if there was anything I needed, etc.  She was also the proud great Gramma-to-be and bought Haley a 5-set onsies.  My mom also bought Haley a 5-set onsies too.  We went to a shopping center near Gramma’s house and they had a baby store out there with clothes only.  Wow, so many clothes I thought were cute!  Many I recognized from Babies r Us.
Food cravings?  Nothing new in this area.  Still Sadie’s salsa…  Last night I did have some dessert more than my dinner at my friend’s house.  Any opportunity I will have, I would add jalapenos, even to my Subway orders.  Usually I don’t, but I just gotta have some.
Food aversions?  Pretty boring in this area.  Still mushrooms and olives.
Labor signs?  Nope.
Belly button in or out?  It’s weird, it’s becoming shallow but at the same time kind of closing up.  It’s becoming more oblique than round.
What I miss?  Sometimes I miss having a good night’s sleep.  Mostly from not being able to breathe comfortably at night.
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  I look forward to seeing how big my belly can get.  When we were out shopping, the fitting room had this fake belly that women can try on to see what they’d look like at 7 months.  How do I know it’s 7 months?  That was what was printed on the fake belly, a big 7.  With my 6 months belly plus the 7 months fake belly, the result was HILARIOUS.  We had to take pictures with our phone.  I couldn’t help but send it to Ian and he basically went holy moley!  Oh yea, and there’s my 1 hour sugar test coming up in few weeks.  Mental note - bring a book…

Let your spouse put an ear to your belly — he might be able to pick up baby’s heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby’s also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink — perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

New additions to my makeup bag!

So, my recent random thoughts couldn’t be put out of my mind…  We went out to get some of the Bare Minerals makeup kit for my bag since it’s a steal, $60 for nearly $200 value.  It included some brushes and 4 compacts of different things:  2 foundations, 1 finisher, and 1 bronzer.  I spoke with a lady there asking questions about the kit.  She explained the bronzer wasn’t exactly like blush (goes to show how much I know about makeup).  So had her recommend a blush for me and she did.  Now I do have this added to my kit and I’m good to go!  I tried on the kit yesterday for the first time and loved it!  It was easier than I thought it would be.  I was afraid that the use of different things would mean more time for application.  It wasn’t really that bad.  I didn’t use the bronzer just yet and figured it’s great for those winter months (and mostly since I’d like to buy a brush to only use for the bronzer as to not mix it up for my blush brush).  Perhaps the next set I will get is the “Get Started Eye Kit” mostly because it is a basic color that can go with the two colors I already have.  For sure what I have so far will last me a while.  Once I run out of something, all I would have to do is run back to the store and buy just that one part out of the kit.  Since I have some brush set, maybe I should also invest into some type of tool to care for the brushes.  I tried cleaning one of my old brushes with a bar soap and that didn’t work out great.  It smelled just like the soap itself.  I just want it clean!

Baby P is still a Papaya…

How far along?  24w
Total weight gain?  We had a follow up appointment today and it has been almost 13 pounds gained so far.  Wow.
How big is baby?  I am not sure at this point but she is probably still the size of a papaya.  Maybe around 12 inches?  My doctor is going to be ordering up another ultrasound to confirm the low lying placenta is on its way up.  The doctor mentioned something about the fundal height being 25 cm and yet I have no idea what the heck that means.  As long as Haley is growing, it might not matter much, right?
Maternity clothes?  Yup, still…  My tank top and shorts I wear for bed is still comfortable as heck.  The tank top is stretchy and that’s the least!
Stretch marks?  Nope, hope it can still stay that way.  Need to get some more Palmers!
Sleep?  Other than the frequent trip to the bathroom, not so much sleep.  Although, our weather has been acting up lately, so some of that contribute to not getting as much sleep as I’d like.
Best moments this week?  Going through different musics on Ian’s phone to see what type of music Haley might like.  She seems to take a liking to groups like Weezer and Green Day.  On a lighter note, she did enjoy some groups like IZ and Beatles.
Food cravings?  Oddly, no sudden cravings for this week.  Ian asked about if I had any cravings for the cheese fries I had a while back when we stopped at KFC today to pick up some lunch.  Since then, the craving didn’t come back.
Food aversions?  I suspect that cantaloupe may be added to the list but have not confirmed it just yet.  I don’t think it would be though.  Still pretty boring in this area.  She likes pretty much everything we eat.
Labor signs?  Nope.
Belly button in or out?  Becoming shallow.
What I miss?  It may be TMI, but I miss having a regular BM but have been doing what I can to up my fiber intake.  Salad please!  Oh, and a bit of sleep too.  It’s amazing how the human body can function on less sleep than usual.
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  Well, our next follow appointment is 4 weeks from now plus the 1 hour sugar test.  I was told that basically I would come to the appointment, drink a really sugary orange drink or something and sit in the lobby for 1 hour until my blood draw.  They want to make sure that I am not developing any gestational diabetes.  Hmm, perhaps I’ll bring a book to keep myself occupied.  Perhaps a good reason for me to go look for the next read.  I also will have my follow up ultrasound to see if my placenta is on its way up which I was told is normal for it to happen this way.

Baby’s skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, her newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.

Baby P is still a Papaya…

 How far along?  23w
Total weight gain?  I am not sure where I am but will find out next Friday.  I do not feel like I have gained much though.
How big is baby?  Looks like she is still the size of a papaya.  I feel this is where Haley will develop a bit more on her body mass.  I had been feeling quite a bit of stretching around the belly area (where else, right?).  Our ultrasound technician mentioned the next time we see each other, chances are Haley would have had gained some body fat so this might be what is happening here.
Maternity clothes?  No longer in my pre-pregnancy jeans but still in most of my pre-pregnancy shirts.  There are some shirts that may not last much longer as it’s too short to cover my belly to my neck.
Stretch marks?  I can feel the skin stretching quite a bit especially when I’m a bit backed up or bloated, but so far nothing.  I consider myself fortunate.  My belly still feel itchy.
Sleep?  It seems I have gotten waves of sleep.  Some nights I sleep well.  Other nights I sleep okay.
Best moments this week?  Continuing to feel Haley move and having Ian experience those movements as often as he did.  We talked about how we wondered what it is like for her inside.
Food cravings?  No sudden cravings for this week.  I did get another set of Bahama Buck’s last night and it hit the spot.  The odd thing was Haley should have been moving quite a bit with the sugar I’ve consumed, but it was the opposite.  She remained mellow.  There were some kicks here and there.
Food aversions?  Nothing else new to add.  Pretty boring in this area…
Labor signs?  Nope.
Belly button in or out?  It appears it is on its way of becoming flatter.  It’s still in, but more shallow than it’s ever been.  It makes me wonder if I do pop, would it show through my shirts or not as much?  Most likely depending what I am wearing.
What I miss?  Definitely sleeping on my belly.  I have another one to add…  It is being able to have a good, deep breath.  Sometimes I find myself having shortness of breath as Haley grows.  With today being humid, it did not quite help much.
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  I am getting together with the family tomorrow night which I am very excited about.  I will also be meeting with my mom and Gramma for lunch.  My Gramma have not seen me since Mother’s day which means she’ll be able to see my baby bump.  I also have been at work in building the registry.  It seems easier to add a little bit at a time than trying to add a chunk at a time.  Not to mention, I have a doctor’s appointment next Friday.  We will be able to see how much progress Haley have been making.  Lots of things to look forward to!

Baby’s little face is fully formed…minus the baby fat, of course. The next task at hand for baby: sprouting two teeny-tiny nipples!

Yummy!

I had a sudden craving for one of these…  So Ian and I go out and get them for me (and Haley)…  Yes, I am aware it is late, but what else am I supposed to do, ignore it?  We get down there and I was looking at the menu to see what they had.  Last time I had this craving (yep, I wrote about it), I ordered strawberry diaquari.  This time, something caught my attention:  Sun Devil.  Hmm.  I asked about it and it was a mix of 3 or 4 different juices, I don’t remember them all but they sounded good.  I asked for a sample and it was pretty good.  They fixed me up with some of that with some ice cream, of course.  Nearly an hour later, I am all satisfied!  Haley has been moving quite a bit.  So far, the pattern have been established that she becomes a bit active after I eat.

Random Thoughts

Sometimes I have random thoughts that leads me to internet-shopping without leaving my house.  These were some of the items I was looking at in the last few days.

1.  Bare Minerals makeup.  I think it’s about time I updated my bag and plus maybe learn some new techniques.  I’ve been eyeballing several of their starter kits.

2.  Digital photo frame.  I think it would be awesome to put up some photos that will change on a timer.  Plus, it puts some of my digiscrapping skills to use.  Definitely something I’d enjoy.

3.  A year’s worth of manicure and pedicure.  I love.love.love being pampered.  Granted, it has been a while, but I do try and do it at home as well.  Just not the same for someone else to do it for you.  Plus, I don’t think you can have these without massages.  I couldn’t help but include this picture with the lily!

4.  Eclipse.  This is book #3 of the Twilight series.  I love reading books and I would like to pick up a copy of this book.  After I complete the series in paperback, I am switching to buying only e-Books from Amazon.com.  We have a Kindle and love it!  The best thing about it is there’s nearly no worry of having the storage for the books I buy.  I like to think I am the bookworm of this family.  I hope I can pass the love of reading to our little one.

5.  Forever21.  For some reason, anytime I have a gift card to this place, I hold out forever until I find a shirt I want to buy.  I still have my gift card from my birthday last year.  Fortunately, most of my shirts I have from this place are fitting me well through my pregnancy.  Yippie!

I think that about concludes my random thoughts for today.  Oh, not to mention…  A while back, Ian brought up this really off the wall idea when we were driving home from work.  He turned to me and asked me if it was entirely possible for Segway to be “driveable” on the freeways.  I am not sure how the topic led to this, must had been from talking about how funny the movie, Mall Cop, was when we saw it few nights before the converstation.

Baby P is a Papaya!

How far along?  22w
Total weight gain?  10 pounds so far.
How big is baby?  It’s amazing how far I’ve came from a plum sized to papaya sized.  I am really happy how we are progressing.  Haley is getting stronger and can feel her.  At this point, she might be running out of room.
Maternity clothes?  No longer in my pre-pregnancy jeans.  I have stored them away until they are needed.  My shirts still fits me well.  Some of them are a bit too short to cover up my belly.  They’re great for me to wear at home regardless.
Stretch marks?  None so far!  I am continuing to lather myself up.  I feel a bit less itchy from regular application.
Sleep?  I’ve gotten used to some of the new sleep patterns that some nights can be difficult to sleep and other nights aren’t a problem.  Last night was not a problem for me.  I did notice that if I am really sleepy at an early time, I would sleep better.
Best moments this week?  We picked up our second set of furniture and Ian had put them together.  He did a great job of doing that.  We are hard at work with Haley’s room.  More and more people are noticing that I am pregnant and have that glow as well.  This week, Haley is starting to kick more noticeable even when I am not laying down.  Ian also felt her and he thought she was playing soccer in there.
Food cravings?  This part is actually interesting.  Few days ago, I made a quick store run to gather up some things to make banana bread.  While I was at the store, I picked up some donuts.  All of the sudden, I was staring at the chocolate cake donut and first thing that came to mind was chocolate syrup and strawberries.  So, I hurried to finish my shopping trip and fixed up some of what I thought.  It was awesome!  Just hit the spot!  Then couple hours later, I asked Ian if it would taste weird having ginger ale drink and cherry grenadine.  He gave me a strange look and took a while to respond.  Basically said if it would hit the spot to go for it.  So I mixed a small amount to see if I’d like it.  I actually did!  These two cravings were more in the moment than the others I’ve had in the last few weeks.
Food aversions?  Nothing else new to add.  Pretty boring in this area…
Labor signs?  Nope.
Belly button in or out?  Well, sort of not in, but still in.  It’s becoming a bit more wide and shallow.  Maybe another month or two before it pops out?  I’m really curious how that’d look like!  I still laugh at what my dad says that when Haley is done, the belly button would pop.
What I miss?  Sleeping on my belly for sure.  I can’t seem to sleep in past 10am anymore.  Maybe I’m too excited to see what the day would bring me.  I’ve been a bit of an early riser (other than work days).
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  My mom and Gramma wants to get together since I have not seen my Gramma for a while.  I’ve also been at work in building the registry.  I have a follow up appointment with the doctor in 2 weeks.  I’m also looking forward to the next time we’ll see Haley via ultrasound.

Watch what you say — baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby’s starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn’t be hard to figure out when — just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.
