Baby P is still a Watermelon!

How far along?  38w0d
Total weight gain?  As of my appointment Wednesday, I didn’t gain since last week which means the total still remains at 33 lbs.
How big is baby?  I am not sure.  I did have an ultrasound Wednesday as ordered by the doctor, but taking the weight measurement wasn’t part of the order.  I’m thinking she might be 7 lbs.
Maternity clothes?  Not gonna bother to answer this one.  Haha!
Stretch marks?  Nope.  The streak continues!  I am on bottle #7, may need to get one or two more to go through the next couple weeks plus post partum.
Sleep?  I really miss having a good night sleep.  Mostly because the neighbor behind us and a couple house over turns on their porch light in the early hour that has me wide awake.  Other than that, I experience quite a bit of movement from Haley before I am able to fall asleep.  I noticed I’d have to be so tired for me to fall alseep faster than a speeding bullet.
Best moments this week?   Realizing that Haley will be with us very soon and having an unplanned ultrasound to see her again.
Food cravings?  Nothing new lately.
Food aversions?  Nothing new since last week.
Labor signs?  I would have occasional cramps like pain in my belly.  Sometimes it’s super hard but nothing concrete as far as timing the frequency of them.
Belly button in or out?  Still flat.
What I miss?  BREATHING!  Oh man, the last few days was a struggle to breathe.  Sometimes I felt like I would pass out so I try and take it easy if I find myself out of breath.
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  We will be meeting with my doctor Monday to go over the game plan considering we have discovered Haley to be breech position at our Wednesday appointment check-up.  At this point, I do not know if she’ll still have the opportunity to flip back down or even how the pregnancy will end with the type of delivery.  Come Monday, we’ll have a better idea of what to expect.

The last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby’s skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into your amniotic fluid. Baby’s head is about the same circumference as her abdomen, and her head could be covered in an inch or so of hair.

Ian’s Wish List Item…

As most of you know, Ian has his Miata project (www.iansmonstermiata.com) and he showed me a booster seat that we could get for Haley.  So, I go check it out and immediately could see myself with this face of, “Hmm, typical of Ian to bring this up…”  I thought was hilarious.  It goes to show his “guy side” of him, obviously.  He commented how much Haley will love the car at an early age by showing me this:

I foresee this as his wish list for next year or so.  I just had to share this!

Total weight gain?  As of Thursday, I have gained another pound which brings the total to 33 pounds.
How big is baby?  I am guessing she is at least 6 pounds at this point.  I think she might be on the smaller side.
Maternity clothes?  Really, must I answer this question?  It’s getting unnecessary for me to answer it at this point, LOL!
Stretch marks?  Nope.  The streak continues!  I have moved onto bottle #7.
Sleep?  I miss sleep.  I’m lucky to have a good night rest.
Best moments this week?   Someone commented how I look really great especially so close to the end.  That comment made my day.  I also had my doctor’s appointment where we learned that Haley is still heads down (I want her to stay this way!)  Finally, today Ian and I went over to get some maternity photo done and it was really great.  We will be picking up our CD next week.  We have less than 3 weeks to go and we are also finishing up putting things away in Haley’s room.
Food cravings?  Nothing new lately.
Food aversions?  Nothing new since last week.
Labor signs?  Some Braxton Hicks going on here and there.
Belly button in or out?  Still flat.  Ian is still right it won’t pop out at all.  my belly button area to make it pop out.
What I miss?  As funny as it sounds, I miss zipping up my hoodies that I have (they’re not for maternity).  They look really good when I put it on.  It’s funny how something so simple as a zipper can make me miss it.  I haven’t zipped up my pants in FOREVER!
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  Getting the remaining things we need for Haley.  We’ll also have to get the car seat figured out and with some pratice in before going to the hospital.  Tomorrow, we are meeting up with some friends to our favorite local brewery.  Many people are looking forward to meeting her upon her arrival.  I appreciate all the love and support from everyone that I meet including the people at work.  They are always checking in on me, making sure I am okay and if I needed anything.  Sometimes I need their help with anything below my waist.  Having no set “last day of work”, they have been helpful in making sure anyone who sees me understand that I might not be in the next time they want to sese me.

At week 37, your pregnancy is considered full term, meaning baby is likely to thrive after birth. Baby spends these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. Meconium, which you’ll probably find in the first diaper, is accumulating in the intestines. If (okay, as) you worry about giving birth, consider what it’s like for the little one. During the journey out of your womb, baby will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life.

I must say that I am excited and nervous at the same time for the labor and delivery.  More excited, truth be told.  The nervous part of it is venturing in the unknown.  I made a realization the other day that it would be the last Thanksgiving with just Ian and I and the first Christmas with the three of us.  From a co-worker, I got this cute red outfit for Christmas.  It came with a Santa hat, but I am not sure if it would fit, but we’ll see!

Total weight gain?  As of Thursday, I have gained another 2 pounds which brings the total to 32 pounds.
How big is baby?  I am guessing she is at least 5 pounds at this point.
Maternity clothes?  My closet is slowly becoming maternity only with my pre-pregnancy clothes stored away in my dresser.
Stretch marks?  Nope.  ::knocks on wood::  But I can say that my belly is feeling some tightening in some areas and pretty itchy too.
Sleep?  What is sleep?  I’m lucky to sleep through the night.  I woke up few times so I can adjust myself and to pee as well.  I noticed if I am pretty tired, I would nearly sleep through the night.
Best moments this week?   The best moment would have to be two things.  One was our second baby shower and another was finding out Haley is now heads down.  Yayy!  I was getting a bit worried she wouldn’t flip.  Call it mother’s worry, but I wanted to be able to deliver naturally.  We also finished our birthing class.  After the birthing class and my latest doctor’s appointment, I received some freebies and samples.  That’s probably the perk of getting ready for the baby, people are giving free samples.  I even got some sort of small travel pack diaper sling.  I think we’ll be using this for the hospital because we won’t carry as much than it would be several weeks afterwards.
Food cravings?  I don’t think there are any new cravings lately.
Food aversions?  Black licorice.  ::gags::  Mind you, I never liked it, but when I went to drop off some paper at work yesterday, there was some fun-sized bag candies.  So I took one.  Little did I realize that it was coated only to find underneath was black licorice.  It made me spit it out after one bite.
Labor signs?  Probably…  I’d say it’s my body preparing for labor right now.  They’re Braxton Hicks (BH) contractions.  I explained to my doctor that I experienced some sharp period-like cramps, nothing timeable.  She said most likely my body is preparing for contractions.
Belly button in or out?  Completely flat right now.  I think Ian is right, it won’t pop out.  I think for that to happen, the baby would have to be bigger and pushing on my belly button area to make it pop out.  At the least I know my belly button is being super clean each time I shower.
What I miss?  For sure some beer.  Ian brought home a couple growler’s from Four Peaks and boy, the smell of fresh beer made it so difficult.  It literally made my mouth water.  As I tell myself, very soon, I’ll be able to drink again.
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  With the many gifts from the two baby showers I’ve had so far, I’ve been busy putting things away.  I am looking foward to stocking up Haley’s bedroom.  Seeing all the outfits hanging in her closet or the socks in the dresser is making things seem more real.

Baby should soon descend into your pelvis, which will give your lungs a little room to breathe (literally).  The bad news:  This puts the brunt of baby’s weight on your hips and pelvis, and will make them pretty sore.  Add in your ever-loosening ligaments, and you may soon be taking on that oh-so-adorable pregnancy waddle.

I have to mention on the pregnancy waddle, it’s so true…  Sometimes after sitting down for a while, it can feel sore in the pelvic area and having to waddle.  Not to mention my balance system being outta whack.  There’s somewhat of a depth perception being challenged in my belly area.  I have to be mindful whenever it comes to moving around.

Total weight gain?  Not sure what it is, but will find out the new total weight next week.  To date, it is 30 pounds total.
How big is baby?  Maybe she’s inching towards 5 pounds, maybe more.
Maternity clothes?  Yup.  At this point, I don’t remember what my pre-pregnancy jeans are like.
Stretch marks?  Nope.  Belly is pretty dang itchy right now.  Shower feels real good or putting a wet rag on my belly.
Sleep?  What is sleep?  I am up many times in the night due to hiccups, getting comfortable, or even to pee.
Best moments this week?   Today is the 35/35.  This means that I am 35 weeks with 35 days left to go.  Wow, what a milestone!  It feels like I came so far from when we found out and being so close to holding our girl.  We went to our first birthing class Wednesday.  It was really interesting and a lot of information learned.  We have our last half of the class next week.
Food cravings?  I would say lately I’ve been wanting caramel so I eat those fun size Milky Way’s.  The usual salsa, hamburgers, and cheese still stands.
Food aversions?  *yawns*
Labor signs?  Nope.
Belly button in or out?  Completely flat right now.  I think I am officially calling it flat right now after weeks of flip-flopping between in or out.
What I miss?  Not having to plan each of my move whenever I get in/out of the car, getting up from the couch or sitting down, bending to put on shoes and socks, and the like.  I also miss sleeping on my belly.  It was one of the ways that I could sleep a bit longer than it would on my side like I’ve been doing for a while.
What I am looking forward to the next few weeks?  Tomorrow is the baby shower.  I am very excited to go and celebrate the day tomorrow.  Next week will be another busy week with 2nd half of birthing class scheduled and another baby shower for work.  They’ve been wanting to throw me a shower.  I can imagine the loot we’ll bring home.

From now on, baby’s growth is mostly in the plumping up department — though he won’t get much longer, he’ll put on a pound or more of baby fat before birth. (He’s about 15 percent right now and will be about 30 percent by full-term.) His hearing is totally developed (tip: baby responds best to higher pitches), and if he really is a “he,” his testes have probably completed their descent.

Fall Fashion

I was told about a website that has all different type of stores with clothings, accessories, shoes, and whatnot.  So I toyed around with it a little bit to come up with a simple outfit, see what it’s all about.  Just a few keyword search gave me this outfit that I’ve put together.  Awesome!  I love it!  I see more outfits in the future…
